In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…….”(Gen 1:1)
“All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres!”
There is something, just something, about hearing the birds in the early morning.
Hush now, and listen!
It’s that cherished moment when you realise half the world is asleep and the day is just awakening. Dawn peeks through the open window, lighting the sky in magnificent colour. Wind whispers good-morning to all who can hear, while wafting dewy scents through the air.
Hush now and listen!
When cometh spring the birds doth sing. Their pleasant voices bring music to my ears. I want to live in that very moment everyday and savour it all.
Hush now, and listen!
Amongst the fervent chatter, God makes his voice ever so clear, “Be still and now that I am God!” His tranquil depth encompasses me. It is surreal.
This is the morning. The day the Lord hath made!
Hush now and listen as I enjoy the last chapter of Psalms!
Psalm 150 ESV
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise Him in his mighty heavens!
Praise Him for his mighty deeds; praise Him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with the lute and harp!
Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe
Praise Him with sounding cymbals;praise Him with with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
I never understood the Psalms, beautiful as they are. I see the book written as a diary with multiple entries inspired by one of the leading men from the Bible. That is all. I’ve always known the Psalms as irrelevant to my life. Until now. As I struggle to read from the bible each day, I feel the sudden urge to begin in Psalms. How come? From this day forward, I shall consecutively read one chapter from Psalms each day to see the gifts God has bestowed upon me in the days to follow. My morning are set aside for God because He comes first in my life. As it should be.
This is the day the lord has made: Rise & Shine & Bring Glory to God. Hallelujah, Amen!
And for those of you who are not habitually morning people I challenge you to get up at early. 5:00am or which ever time that may be before midday. Hurry now, before the birds migrate south for the winter and the days become darker.
Good morning,
🙂 EM
PS: This post was inspired by first and secondly these two videos here. Plus, there are plenty of other encouraging youtube videos about the same topic. Also, don’t you think this ties in perfectly for the start of the new school year. End Song
